Candle Care
A little care makes your candle burn cleaner, safer, and longer. Here's how we recommend enjoying yours.
Before you light it
Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before every burn. A long or bent wick causes uneven burning, soot, and a smaller flame.
The first burn
Let the candle burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the container, usually 1–2 hours. This creates an even "memory ring" and helps prevent tunneling on future burns.
While it's burning
Keep candles within sight, away from drafts, children, pets, and anything flammable. Burn on a flat, heat-safe surface. Never burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Using your Wick Care Kit
Our snuff, trim, and dip tool set is designed to make upkeep simple: snuff to safely extinguish without smoke, trim to keep the wick at the right length, and dip to submerge a smoking wick and re-set it.
When to stop
Stop burning a candle once about 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom, to protect the container and surface beneath it.
